Recipes...

Well, I'm not going to review anything today, but I am going to let you know that I've found that I have been creating my own recipes that are pretty great. So I think I may start taking pictures as I cook or after I cook and post some of my own personal creations that (just like all the other stuff I post) I wish I would have thought of BEFORE I was vegan!

Last night I discovered deep fried tofu... I made my own marinade and dry batter. My picky child could not get enough of them! He said he wanted to take them to school to show his friends so he could blow their minds, LOL!

I will post the recipe after I make it again, so I can show off how yummy it looks. I will definately making more of it soon, so it may even be my next post.

Thanks you!

I'm on a beverage kick...

Okay, I know I've already told you about one of my favorite beverages not that long ago, but while shopping a couple of days ago, my husband and I discovered Rice Dream Supreme. They are "gourmet" milk alternatives. My husband grabbed Rice Dream Supreme Chocolate Chai and I grabbed Rice Dream Supreme Vanilla Hazelnut.

They didn't last long, because even our children loved them. My oldest daughter said that the Chocolate Chai tastes like gingerbread. To me, the Vanilla Hazelnut tastes like vanilla ice cream! So yummy!!!

I will try and get to solid foods in the next few posts, but the world of milk alternatives is amazing to me. I have found and seen so many interesting non-dairy beverages. They are definately worth the try!

To find Rice Dream products at a store near you, click here.

If you have tried any of these or any other non-dairy milk alternative, please feel free to review it in the comments! Thank you!

Quick meal...

One of my favorite quick meals are Boco Chik'n Patties.

My 4 kids love them, which is saying a lot because my two sons are picky! We also love the Spicy Chik'n Patties, they aren't too spicy, perfect for those of you that want just a hint of spice.

Boco offers a pretty great selection of vegan products: Chili entree, Vegan Burger, Chik'n Nuggets, Chik'n Patties, Spicy Chik'n Patties, and Ground Crumbles.

If you've tried any Boco products. Please share your review or any creative uses for them.

My favorite snack!

I'm always in search of yummy dips and appetizers. I recently ran across the blog, Fatfree Vegan Kitchen written by SusanV. For Halloween she posted the recipe for Spooky Black Bean Hummus. My own tweaks to the recipe was to not use the optional soy yogurt and I did not decorate the dip with soy yogurt or extra tahini. But dispite that difference, it became my favorite snack of all time!!!

It has been a challenge to find vegan safe pita for dipping (there tends to be honey in pita, so if I find a great vegan pita, I will definately review it), but really any vegan breads or chips work great! And for the omnivores, pitas or pita chips are a perfect pairing.

My favorite part about this hummus is the mexican twist. The lime, chipotle & black beans give it that perfect kick. Some other suggestions is using it as a spread on a sandwich or wrap.

Click here for the recipe. (If you haven't clicked above, hehe).

Remember, if you've tried this dip or you decide to try it, please leave a review in the comments.

Hello!!!

Welcome to my blog! I decided to start this blog to inform the masses about all the great foods veganism has to offer. I've only been a vegan for a short while and I've already found some amazing products and recipes that I wish I would've known about BEFORE I was vegan! Well, I'm going to start off with one of my favorite beverages. I found one of the best chocolate milk substitutes of all time... to me, it is even better than chocolate milk itself!

Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Non-Dairy Beverage

I love that it has a similar texture to milk, and that it has an amazing chocolate-almond flavor. I love it as a dessert or drinking it with breakfast.

I have been able to find it in most of my local grocery stores (usually near the health or organic foods). On the Blue Diamond Almond Breeze page is a store locator so you may find it at the closest store to you.

If you have tried this product or you go out an buy it then try it, please leave a comment with your review. Thank you!
